In our lives we have many decisions that we must make. Perhaps we need to decide whether or not we should study for a very important test or shall we go out with our friends and party. The final decisions that we make are ultimately based on our priorities. The individual that chooses to go out and have fun obviously treasures the night life rather than their studies vice versa . One individuals decision can play a major role in another one’s life and segregates us as all being the same. In the poem “The road not taken “by Robert Frost the author uses metaphors, imaginary, and the structure of the poem to convince us that the road that the individual takes might be the right or the wrong path and this path would make a world of a difference in that individuals live. In the very beginning of the poem the author states "two roads diverge in a yellow wood" (1). The poet has to choose between two diverging roads, and they have to decide which road they will take to reach his or her final destination. At the end of the poem, the speaker says "and that has made all the difference" (20). This quote is implying that the road chosen, which is the crucial point that made his life different from everyone else’s. The imaginary in this poem shows how detrimental the decision that the individual makes impacts their lives. On the ordinary we are all faced with difficult times and challenges when deciding what we should choose to reach the road we want to go on. We frequently question ourselves and secondly doubt ourselves by asking is this the right or wrong road were taking such as when Robert Frost wrote “Two roads diverged in a yellow wood and sorry I could not travel both”(1-2). Automatically we know the road is yellow so first notion is to believe the poets scenery is autumn. When leaves change color and life starts to die. This passage can make one understand that the poets decision is one of ultimate importance and a difficult one at that.
