Reflective account
Morning call
• Upon entering the customer’s home I put my gloves and apron. I will open the curtains then proceed to the bedroom to wake the person up if she was still asleep.
• I would assist out of bed onto the commode the transfer to the toilet.
• To give her some privacy while using the toilet I go back to the bedroom to make her bed, open the curtains and get clean clothes ready to take to the bathroom.
• When she has finished she calls me to go back in. While sitting down I undress her and give her a full body wash then dry. Talc and deodorant
• After changing my gloves and apron I pass her teeth to put in, put a fresh pad on then get the person dressed. Brush her hair.
• Assist into the living using her walking frame to the chair.
• Put her glasses on then turn the telly on while I make her 2 toast, tea, and water for her tablets.
• I ask to make sure she is comfy and that she has got everything to hand that she needs.
• When leaving the property I lock the door and put the key back in the key-safe.
Dinner time call
• After putting gloves and apron on I assist out of chair using the walking frame into toilet. To give privacy I wait close by but not in the room with her.
• When she has finished I freshen up, cream and change pad.
• Assist back to living room chair, left comfy then take gloves and apron off.
• Make her food and drink then put it next to her.
• Check that she has got everything then lock up on leaving.
