Firstly, I would like to thank my teacher, Mr Nik Chong for his invaluable advice and guidance through the duration of dissertation.
I would also like to pen my heartfelt thanks especially to my classmate, Jia Bing, whose encouragement and advice has pushed me to go beyond my limits and motivating and pacing the whole group to keep up with the deadlines. Moreover, he never fails to give insightful “out of the box” suggestions to situations.
My thanks also go the many helpful people at the case restaurant who responded to the survey and took time off to be interviewed by me. Without their valuable inputs this research would not have been possible.

ABSTRACT
The restaurant chosen for this study is a restaurant which provides a western food in Malaysia. The sales is not promising, and the restaurant has only keep the old menu from the beginning of its business, because of it, there are some existed customers went to their competitors in the same street. So that, researcher has provide some of the strategies involved in product development to help case restaurant to develop a new product that can increase the sales and improve the business performance.
The primary objectives of this study are to examine the benefits of new product development and what are the better strategies that can be used in case restaurant. The study is based on 3 research questions covering various areas related to new product development. This includes:
