Due to the increasing demands for training northerncare have opted to have internal trainers from March 2012. Some staff may go out of their Advanced team teach validation period (of 12 months) during this period. | Staff & client group, general public | * All staff that are out of advanced licence are booked onto the first available course’s as a matter of urgency. * Team teach Advanced is refreshed annually, Staff will have had advanced training and knowledge of the techniques. * Staff will still have valid Team teach basic training. * 95% of the Team Teach concept is training skills in individual behaviour management de-escalation support techniques that greatly reduce the need for any physically restrictive positive handling. * Staff who are temporarily out of advanced licence will continue to use their training and employ all other appropriate Team Teach techniques other than ground holds. * Restrictive physical support is always used as a total last resort and in line with the key duty of care justifications stated in company policy procedure and: children’s act volume 5 regulation and guidance. 2.98.
