The issues that my group is concerned with is protecting and defending the most fundamental right to humankind which is the right to life of every innocent human being from the beginning of life to the natural death. They are protecting and fighting for unborn babies and born, people with disabilities, and people who can't fend for themselves or who are vulnerable. They are against abortion, assisted suicide, euthanasia, infanticide, and the killing of unborn children for their stem cells.
Some actions the NRLC take to influence policy and public agenda are playing a big role in state and federal legislation regulating and restricting abortion, and has been instrumental in restricting government funding of abortions to poor women. They have a Political Action Committee that endorses and campaigns for candidates who support its agenda, which include opposition to some forms of Birth Control as well as physician-assisted suicide. The NRLC has more than 7 million members, with 3,000 local chapters and 50 state affiliates. It is headquartered in Washington, D.C and has annual budgets of more than 9 million. This interest group has lobbied for federal legislation banning partial-birth abortions. This act remained the highest priority of the NRLC, which has helped secure state legislation banning the abortion procedure in 17 states. They operate four outreach programs; National Teens for Life, American Victims of Abortion, National Pro-Life Religious Council, and Black Americans for Life.
NRLC strengths are its number of diverse members. Its educated members is also a big strength because they provide the base of its citizens who call or write their elected representatives and help us pass vital legislation.
A weakness of NRLC is that they still have not been able to get legislation to make all abortion illegal in all 50 states.
