Supply and Demand
Although my 1960’s kitchen was cute and cozy, an update was needed to include more modern energy efficient appliances, including a dishwasher, which was an addition. This will not only be a compliment to the house, but will benefit with savings on our energy costs. Many variables were taken into consideration when purchasing appliances for the kitchen, including the dishwasher. Purchasing a dishwasher was an expense that not only had to be worked into our budget, but also the style, price comparing, color, size, the efficiency of, alternatives, advantages and disadvantages. All of which are things that are taken into consideration, when making any major purchase. Upgrading a room in your house not only provides convenience, but also increases the value in your home, if all things are taken into consideration and provide the necessary convenience and to date product. Any homeowner upgrading a room in their home, should have knowledge of the current market appealing to the buyers.
Factors that could cause possible changes to supply and demand of dishwashers are price, consumers income, preferences, substitutes, household budget, operating costs, or today’s price versus future price. Is it a necessity or a luxury. The consumers income plays a large role in the ability to purchase anything, the type would certainly affect the price, leaving the consumer to purchase one that doesn’t carry all the bells and whistles, but gets the job done. After all, not all household incomes are the same, some being considerably lower or higher than others. Consumers have different preferences, some costing more than others. There are other alternatives to owning a dishwasher, but not as efficient, leaving the luxury item to being a necessity to conserve on energy, which also explains the reasoning behind operating costs.
