All hard copies of material relating to assessments (including completed portfolios that have been submitted and are waiting for either internal or external verification) are kept in the training room office and can only be accessed by the tutor/assessor and the internal verifier unless authorisation from either has been given.
Any material relating to assessments that is kept on computers is password protected and the use of transferable storage media is kept to a minimum with only the tutor/assessor being authorised to use a data stick. Any files/folders held on the data stick are password protected and it is the responsibility of the tutor/assessor to keep it secure at all times and ensure it is not left unattended or lying around.
Where a laptop is used it is the responsibility of the member of staff using it to ensure it is kept secure at all times.
Where computers/laptops are used and need to be left unattended they should either be locked or shut down to avoid the possibility of unauthorised use.
4.3
On completion of each unit undertaken by a learner it is good practice to evaluate the assessment process as a whole from the planning stage through to the assessment stage. This will identify where improvements can be made and highlight the need for further development if any is needed.
