1) WHAT IS MEANT BY THE TERM “EDUCATIONAL INCLUSION “?
Inclusive education means that all pupils with special needs and disabilities can attend mainstream schools,attend regular classes and receive support to learn,contribute and participate in all aspects of school life.
This is about how we develop and design our schools,classrooms,programs and activities so that all pupils learn and participate together.
Inclusion is a process by which local education authorities,schools and others develop their cultures,policies and practices to include all pupils into mainstream education. The schools in which the teaching assistant work will now have policies for SEN,EAL and equal opportunities/inclusion. Many will also have teachers with special responsibility in these areas.
Inclusion in education is a key for a better and more fulfilling life,with the right support,research,practise,staff training,each pupil will get an opportunity in a different level or age but with the right support they will have a chance.
2) DISCUSS FIVE FACTORS THAT CAN AFFECT THE SUCCESS OF INCLUSION EDUCATION.
For a successful and positive inclusion education to work in schools there are various factors that must be taken into account. The main factors are:
Positive attitude on part of all involved, special education professionals should work along side each other including parents the own pupils,teachers,assistants,staff and the school. It needs to be taken into account the parents views in respect to the pupil’s particular needs, the wishes of the child concerned,in level with their age and understanding.
Planning and preparation,where a program to help pupils develop is a team effort. Parents,teachers and assistants all play a vital part in setting this all up.
