European Union Main Subject Group
One of the main aims of D@dalos is to make a contribution toward a "European whole". What does this mean? Well, for one, this means that we support the efforts being made to unite the entire European subcontinent. We regard the current situation as an historical opportunity, born out of the huge changes that have been taking place since 1989. But this also means that our aim is also to achieve a European Europe that is able to preserve and develop its European identity.
While this identity is reflected in its cultural diversity, it is also reflected in its culture, which is inseparable with democracy and Human Rights as central European values. We have dedicated an individual Main Subject Group to each of these subjects on our education server.
This Main Subject Group on the European Union deals with the European institution that has made achieving "ever closer union of Europe's peoples" its objective. To this end, the following questions will be addressed:

We would like to welcome you to this almost completely revised version of the "European Union" Main Subject Group. It was finished in December 2005 and therefore represents an up-to-date account of the European Union as it is today. But the purpose and main objective of this revised version was just about making it up-to-date. This new Main Subject Group has been designed to give you the skills needed to analyse and to assess the developments in the EU for yourself. And it is here that we have made significant improvements on the first version. This has been done by providing you with simple, easy-to-understand models, which, for example, you will find in Basic Course 3 and in our new Basic Course 5.
All that remains is to wish you lots of fun and success while working through this new Main Subject Group. We would also be delighted to hear your thoughts and comments. All feedback is welcome.
