Introduction
This report discusses and evaluates the effects of process technology on Toyota Motor Corporation. Process technologies are the devices and machines that produce and/or deliver goods and services within a given organisation. Some of the process technologies to be examined within the Toyota Motor Corporation include: Industrial robot, Automatic guided vehicle (AGV), Flexible manufacturing system (FMS) and Computer integrated manufacturing (CIM). The report will further evaluate the effects of e-business on Toyota Motor Corporation. Electronic commerce, commonly referred to as e-commerce, is the paperless exchange of vital business information by use of information and communication technologies (Gao, 2010). This will critically evaluate the e-TOTOYA business operations. It will focuses on some of the key features of e-TOYOTA such as GAZOO, G-book and G-Link. All this will be discussed with the objective of evaluating their effect on the logistical and operational capacity and capability of Toyota Motor Corporation.
Findings and Analysis
It was found that Toyota Motor Corporation has put in place some process technologies such as Industrial robot, Automatic guided vehicle (AGV), Flexible manufacturing system (FMS) and Computer integrated manufacturing (CIM) to ease its logistical and operational capacity and capability. It is also operating an e-business, in the name of e-TOYOTA. At this point, the report is to evaluate the situation that necessitated the use of these process technologies and e-business, the operational and logistics problem created without their use and how they offer various solutions to the problems created previously when not employed in the operational and logistical use of Toyota Motors Corporation.
