Tiger Woods, the world’s number one professional golfer, was involved in a car accident outside of his residence in Florida. The accident was a single car accident and Tiger was the only person in his 2009 Cadillac SUV at the time. The accident is said to have taken place at two twenty-five in the morning on Friday November 27, 2009. The time seems to be the big factor in why this accident brought so much suspicion and concern to the table. The Florida Highway Patrol said; “Woods’ vehicle hit a fire hydrant and a tree in his neighbor’s yard when he pulled out of his driveway at two twenty-five in the morning.” His wife, Elin Woods, told the officers; “She was in the house when she heard the crash and came out and broke the back window with a golf club.” Elin got her husband out of the car and laid him on the ground waiting for the police to get there. Woods was unconscious when the police arrived. Tiger had wounds on his upper and lower lips and blood in his mouth. When the ambulance arrived ten minutes later, Woods was conscious enough to speak. “He was mumbling, but didn’t say anything coherent” says Daniel Saylor, the Windermere police chief. It is reported that Tiger Woods was knocked unconscious for six minutes. Woods’ family when asked refused to address matters involving the accident because they were private issues. It was reported by the Florida Highway Patrol that alcohol was not involved but, charges could be filed. Tiger’s injuries were first described as serious by the patrol but he was treated and released later Friday afternoon his spokesman, Glenn Greenspan, reported. Then on Saturday Woods’ agent asked to postpone an interview with the police. The police accepted this request and plan to meet on Sunday.
