Many Treatments of Prostate Cancers
Introduction
There are several different types of treatments for prostate cancer. The first things to consider are your health, the side effects, and your age are very important factors in selecting a treatment. Various treatments and their effects are described below.
Active surveillance
Active surveillance, means “watch and wait” the doctors at American Cancer Institute stated this is only when it is a slow growing cancer also if there are other health problems besides prostate cancer.
Radical Prostatectomy Surgery
Radical Prostatectomy Surgery in this operation, the surgeon removes the entire prostate gland plus some of the tissue around it, including the seminal vesicles and other organs lymph nodes in the pelvic area. Doctor’s at the CANCER INSTITUTE also said before any operations, talk it over with your doctor it is important that you know what is involved & what effects it may have on you.
Robotic Surgery
The doctors at Henry Ford stated that the most experienced surgery is Robotic Surgery.
This surgery is possibly less invasive a camera and instruments are inserted through a small keyhole incisions in the patient's abdomen the surgeon then directs the robotic arm to remove the prostate they continue to state that there are more advantages less pain, fewer complications, less risk of infection, shorter hospital stays, faster recovery and less scarring.
Cryosurgery
Cancer.net states that Cryosurgery also called Cryotherapy or Cry ablation. Cryosurgery is the freezing of cancer cells with a metal probe inserted through a small incision in the area between the rectum and the scrotum, the skin sac that contains the testicles. Although this is not for men with early stages of prostate cancer.
