3.1 Describe the duties and responsibilities of own work role.
I currently work as a senior support worker in the Hixberry Lane.
I work hand in hand with other staff in the overall running of the unit, which involves meetings, supervision, formulate and implement support plans, act as a shift leader, ensure that medication is given correctly, maintain good communication with services users, their families, and professional etc. It is my responsibility to make sure I maintain good Communication with the service users and staff and maintained good written records in accordance with the company policies and procedure.
My day to day job includes putting care plans into action, helping individuals with life skills, developing basic budgeting, money management skills, providing information, helping service users to access information relevant to their needs and wishes, assisting them to develop a higher level of independence and improve their communication and social skills.
Explain expectations about own work role as expressed in relevant standards.
It is my responsibility to report any concerns that I have about staff professional practice. If the information comes from tenant, I will report this to my manager as soon as possible and support them to fill the complaints procedure if they wish to do so. This should be recorded in the log book, shared in staff meetings and mentioned in supervision in order to promote good practice.
