1.1 Identify the legislation that relates to the recording, storage and sharing of information in health and social care

The main piece of legislation is the The Data Protection Act 1998 and that's about how the information of the individual is used
The Access to Health Records Act 1990 provides anyone over 16 to see their health records unless there are compelling reasons to deny access.
Freedom of Information Act 2000 this gives every individual the right to ask the organisation what type of information they have on them
Health and Social Care act section 263 Code of practice on confidential information
Human rights act 2008 article 8 Everyone has the right to respect for his of her private and family life


1.2 Explain why it is important to have secure systems for recording and storing information in a health and social care settings.

Its important to have a secure system for recording and storing the information on the individuals so that   the individuals and even the staff know that their   information are safe and wont be viewed from anyone that   don't have the right to.
As part of the duty of care we have a duty to confidentiality.
It is also the law to document and record this information so it should also be done to comply with legislation it must also protect confidentiality. Prevent identity theft and also maintain the rights of individuals   But the information needs to be accessible for those who needs it.

2.1 Describe how to access guidance, information and advice about handling information

I can get information advice and guidance from manager , colleague and trainings and internet.

2.2 Explain what actions to take when there are concerns over the recording, storing or sharing of information

If I would find something that make me concern over the storing, sharing information I would   go to my supervisor or manager/owner. If any information was missing in for example in care plans I would report it straight away .
