Physical Abuse
The deliberate use of physical force the results in bodily injury, pain or impairment. This includes the inappropriate application of techniques or treatments, involuntary isolation or confinement, misuse of medication.
Signs and symptoms
Multiple bruising,Fractures, Burns, Bed sores, Fear, Depression, Unexplained weight loss
Assault (can be intentional or reckless) marks on the skin consistent with being slapped, scratched,bitten, or pinched.   Smell of urine and faeces, unexplained falls, a reluctance to undress in front of others.

Sexual Abuse
Direct or indirect involvement in sexual activity without valid consent.
Consent to aparticular activity may not be given because, the individual doesn't wish to consent , lacks capacity and is unable to consent or feel coerced into an activity because the other person is in a position of trust, power or authority.
Signs and Symptoms
Change in behavior. Overt sexual behavior or language. Difficulty in walking, sitting. Injuries to genital and/or anal area. Nightmares, torn clothes, self harm,withdrawal from social contact, depression, unexplained crying and distress.

Psychological Abuse
Emotional abuse is often difficult to recognise as it is generally hidden, and happens over time such as,Threats of harm or abandonment. Deprivation of contact. Humiliation, blaming, controlling, intimidation, coercion, harassment, verbal abuse, isolation or withdrawal from services or supportive networks. The deliberate withholding of care, affection, companionship and love are often used by the abuser to intimidate the individual to the abusers needs.
Signs & Symptoms Withdrawal, depression. Cowering and fearfulness. Change in sleep patterns. Agitation, confusion, change in behavior. Change in appetite/weight. Self-isolation- especially when...
