1.1On a daily basis, there is a large number of groups and individuals whom i have to communicate with on a regular basis as a deputy manager at a supported living organisation. It is crucial for me to be able to communicate with them in an effective manner in order to keep the organisation running smoothly. These groups and individuals include social workers, community workers, other managers, support workers, families, service users and member of other organisation. As part of my job role is to communicate concisely and effectively to other agencies as part of the partnership working scheme. As a manager of a supported living organisation it is important to address the communicational needs of my service users in order to advocate for them so they can have a meaningful life with support and care that they are entitled to, for me to help them i need to communicate with other professionals involved directly in their care i.e social workers, community nurse...etc I use different forms of communication in order to achieve this, for example, face to face, over the telephone, or through writing an email.
It is imperative that we use our communication skills to help us to communicate in our job role, some of these are to listen, gather information, provide feedback and be able to give feedback, make decisions, clarify the information by summarising and also by questioning. With these skills i can communicate successfully to effectively communicate in my job role.
1.2 In order for me to support effective communication within my job role, i use different mediums that all require a good level of effective communication skills, this could be in the form of a meeting which requires me to verbally place my opinion and point of view across to professionals and other support works.
