COMUNICATION METHODS FOR DIFFERENT CIRCUMSTANCES
Effective communication is the foundation of conveying information and influences every aspect of my work. Different ways of communicating have impact not only on children but also on colleagues and parents. The most important thing is to use different methods of communication according to the situation.
METOD OF COMMUNICATION:
Verbal
The verbal method of communication we can use when interacting with children, parents and colleagues (e.g. discussion, giving and receiving information, feedback, meetings).
Written
This method we can use when writing letters, notices, home-nursery communication books, reports, forms, notice boards, agendas, records of meetings, policies and procedures, observations and assessments of children etc.
Email
We can use it for general message (e.g. reminder to parents about an event), or for response to a communication from parent/colleague.
Computer/Internet
We can use this method for:
* Power Point or other presentation of date to a group;
* Websites with interactive section/giving general information
* Digital children’s portfolios to share with parents
Telephone
This method we can use for:
* Relaying, receiving or requesting information from parents
* Arranging meetings or visits
* Ordering resources
Video
We can use it for:
* Record children activities
* Record of children development
* Conferences and training
Sign language
Sign language we use when children or adults have severe hearing impairment. It is important to taught sign language early, because a child will use it more naturally.
Good communication is very important to build a good working relationship and positive atmosphere in work place.
