Chapter I
PROBLEM AND IT’S BACKGROUND
Introduction:
Technology has been a part of our daily lives. Billions of people are using computer and we need to be aware of all the things around us to respond properly. Every year, many up-coming freshmen students have problem in enrolling in different universities/colleges. They are rush in compiling their requirements for enrolment in college. Some students have problems in financial, educational basis and time management in enrolling schools that is essentials for daily lives. Enrolment is the process of entering and verifying data of student to register on a particular school. Different interrelated process build up enrolment procedures called enrolment system (ES). ED used particularly in recording and retrieving student’s information. Some schools have unsystematic flow of enrolment, students go back to the schools where they plan to enrol day by day just to complete all requirements needed in enrolling to their selected school. According to the library management at the University of Swaziland in South Africa; higher educations are increasing under pressure to produce student who can effectively function in the Information and Knowledge Society. Enrolment has to play an important role in making pertinent information resources and services to accomplish the mission. The developments in computers, microelectronics, and communication technologies have radically changed the enrolment and information environment. Adding to these studies, this will only serve to increase the problem facing enrolment that provides more easy way in enrolling. Online enrolment system will also be a big help to all the enrolment staff especially under the computer department because they are the one who are entitled to touch and read the information from here.
