Abstract
The goal of Wal-Mart’s recruitment and selection strategy is to increase efficiency, demonstrate consistency and meet compliancy whether in the United States or abroad. The recruitment and selection process is critical for any organization; for this reason, the HR department must ensure all steps of the process are acquiescent within the state of operation. This includes sourcing candidates, reviewing and tracking applications, conducting interviews, selecting candidates, and any background process. Any organization with a strategic business plan would include procedures and systems to avoid administrative issues associated with the staffing and rewards plans of its employees. This includes sourcing candidates, reviewing and tracking applications, conducting interviews, selecting candidates, and any background process. Much goes into selecting the prospective candidate, and company benefits offered determines whether the candidate will accept or deny a job offer. Job and person based pay, incentives and benefit packages herald Wal-Mart as the biggest private employer. Wal-Mart uses a variety of strategies to identify candidates, but relies solely on its "Hiring Center" which reviews potential candidates based on its career planning system. In addition to standard testing in the application process whether a part-time employee, or full-time employee; Wal-Mart looks for individuals with positive attitudes. Wal-Mart also seeks for a friendly character along with the ability to demonstrate a helpful and courteous deposition.
