Why Teens Should Work During Their School Years
Do you think teens are ready to have jobs? The truth is, teens should get job experience in their school years because they can learn from their mistakes they made as teens so they won’t make as many when they are adults or in college. Also they can learn responsibilities that can set them up for a lifetime of success. So what I’m trying to say is that all teenagers are ready for a job and should have one.
To begin with, teens should have a job because they can learn from their mistakes they made as teens so they won’t mess up as much when they are adults or in college. For example author Anne Michuad told us about how she messed up. “just out of 10th grade. I made a lot of mistakes. As the arts and crafts counselor, I blew most of my $200 budget on Popsicle sticks and gimp. We ran out of art supplies halfway through the summer.” Then she tells us how it actually helps to make mistakes. “Making mistakes like that is partly what early jobs are all about. We learn, and then we make better decisions when the “real” job comes along.” Therefore, it is important that teens have jobs in school years so they can make mistakes and learn and avoid them in their future.
Another reason is that, teens should have a job because they can learn responsibilities and set them up for a lifetime of success. By this I mean that young people are the future and they have to be adapted to working and making a living. Therefore, when they are prepared for the real world and responsibilities, teenagers will have good jobs they can keep in the future. For example in the article “Is Your Teen Ready for a Job” it says “A teenager’s job can teach work skills that will serve him well in college and prepare him for careers in adulthood.” And it also says “He can acquire confidence, develop a sense of responsibility and feel more independent.”
