Student workshops are 3 days in length and are focused on improving or enhancing certain skill sets or knowledge on a particular topic. There are a variety of student workshops available. These workshops are free and require no additional purchase of materials. Registration information is provided below.
Participating in student workshops is optional but is highly encouraged for those who are struggling in their courses. Student workshops can be taken at any time during regularly scheduled courses, even before courses begin.
OLS delivered student workshops are available to all students attending the University of Phoenix. Before taking the OLS delivered workshops, students should ensure that they have the following tools and software installed on their computers:
•A full version of MS Office including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
•Internet Explorer 6.0 or an equivalent Internet browser
•Anti-virus software
Quick Facts:
•All OLS delivered student workshops are offered weekly, starting every Wednesday.
•The student workshops are free and students can take them as many times as they would like.
•Students can register for any OLS delivered workshop until Monday, 11:59 pm Arizona Time.
•Students receive a certificate of completion if they complete all Discussion Questions, exercises, and workshop summaries. There are no participation or attendance requirements.
•Most students spend an average of 1-2 hours a day completing OLS delivered workshop tasks on all three days of the workshop.
•Formalized feedback is not provided for the student workshops. Answer keys and wrap-up information will be given for students to compare with their answers.
