World Religions Report
      What is religion?   There are many different terms of “Religion”.   The definition is any specific system of belief about deity, often involving rituals of a code of ethics and a philosophy of life.   Is there such a thing as a true religion?   There are many different religions for instance Jehovah’s witness, Roman Catholic, Mormon, and Seventh Day Adventist just to name a few. There are so many different could one be the “True Religion” maybe none will be. Mormons and Seventh - day Adventists’ are two religions of many but show similarities. They also have many different interesting ways of worshiping their Lord.
      In the year 1830 the Mormon religion was founded by a man named Joseph Smith.
  Joseph Smith is believed to be the first prophet. Mormon’s teach that Christianity is totally apostate and that God chose Joseph Smith as a prophet to restore the religion. Smith began to teach others, who were ready to receive this message. Some of those who he encountered had experienced profound manifestations of the spirit, and he helped by instructing them that the ancient church needed to be restored.   “Mormon” is a short for the follower’s of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.   They believe in hope and rejoicing in Jesus Christ as our Savior just like many other religions do as well.   Mormonism is a very unique religion. Not only do they believe in the Bible but they also believe in scriptures beyond the Bible. There are a few different books that Mormon’s use as Scripture such as; “Doctrines and Covenants”, “The Pear of Great Price” as well the pronouncements of the “Living Prophets”. Mormons’ are well known for their missionary efforts worldwide, all young unmarried men are required to complete at least two years of missionary work.   They have very strong family values, but they have different beliefs and...
