Bulletin Description Overview of Kinesiology sub-disciplines and professional opportunities. Historical, philosophical, sociological, psychological, biomechanical, and physiological aspects of Kinesiology. In other words, this class is to give you an overview of the “exploding field” of Kinesiology. Enjoy!
Program Learning Outcomes Students who graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology will be able to:
1. Comprehend and apply fundamental principles of Kinesiology, including human anatomy and physiology, the ability to teach movement related skills, health promotion, physiological response to exercise, and the mechanics and control of movement.
2. Apply Kinesiology related skills to real-world problems through research, internships, field experience, and/or service learning.
3. Evaluate movement science questions through; the performance of health, fitness, and movement assessment; the acquisition, analysis and interpretation of original data; and the appraisal and application of information from current literature.
4. Utilize oral and written communication that meets appropriate professional and scientific standards in Kinesiology.
